  32. Stephen Danzig Says:

What kept me awake last night was this idea about cultural diplomacy in international business. Cross cultural exchange with our international partners goes beyond the basic principles of business protocol. In this sense business becomes an emotional and psychological response and understanding more than any idea of just closing the sale or making an end point. On this trip to China (I have been working in Beijing for 4 years) I realised that when you sign an agreement, contract or memorandum of understanding that it actually means the beginning of an understanding, not the understanding in an absolute sense. In Western thinking the idea of singing a contract can be very final and perhaps restrictive in it’s resolve … needless to say im now learning to look left and right as well as up and down in my thinking - who knows how long it will take to look back and front..
