I was forwarded this site by a friend after a lengthy discussion with her about depression and how negative thoughts are constantly reinforced by other negative thoughts. This process is dependent on how our brains are programmed and can possibly be re-programmed to think slightly differently about things. Will let you know how it works out!

    Thanks!

    My brain hurts already…

  331. shane welsh Says:

i think life belongs to the strong but i belong to the normal and i think life holds more for me so im pleased to find this web page thank you

  332. gopi ghosh Says:

it is going well- in the sense of struggling, capturing and putting one’s views as well as reading other’s thoughts and reflecting on their thinking processes as well. it is also amazing to note the kind of diversity these thoughts could generate – the ideas they demonstrate from various angles – experiences, examples, tangents, oblique thoughts and sometimes those that are quite “off the track”. I may be wrong in the last phrase ( may be I am conditioned)- as I also believe in someone who very wisely said – no idea is bad – only it’s time has not come.

a question Michael – could there be something that will tell us how we are training, how far we have to be skilled in attaining reasonable thinking capacity or for that matter what is the RIGHT elements in a particular thought sample to see how far we drifted from the original intention of the thinker.

  333. D Says:

I recently began doing my own thinking about thinking in order to improve the efficacy of my thinking :-)

To my way of thinking a “system of evaluation” (system by which one arrived at where he finds himself), to be rational and effective (most closely match reality), must have criterion by which TO evaluate.

The ultimate test of such a system, it seems to me, would be how well that system continues to work (model reality) over time (changing conditions) – as what is is what works but conditions – they are a changin’.

It will be interesting to thus evaluate the SOT system.

  334. Jay Hansen Says:

I am in the process of learning about the difference between reality as it actually exists, and the lie that i have been fed from birth. It is a good thing that an idea whos time has come is more powerful than any army, cause the confusion we have created out here truly needs to end, and the absurdity of our current situation is a very confusing mess to wade through for any honest individual growing up in todays world.

  335. Erick Salazar Says:

I stumbled across the term “lateral thinking” today, November 30, 2006, and after searching online and reading information from Edward de Bono’s web site on lateral thinking, I felt instantly that the potential for improving my life, and those who surround me, can never be quantified.

Thank you for the work, dedication, and care you have given to helping anyone that is willing to explore the power within to learn more.
