that there is a lot to be learned out there and lots of good opportunities. If this course comes your way go for it as it will give you knowledge that will open your eyes to a whole new way of thinking.
August 12th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
The SOT training has contributed to me having an open mind to people, their ideas and the world in general.
I am a happier person after doing the course and intend to do another repetition of it very soon.
Thanks for the opportunity Michael.

Start. As in SDNT. Without starting there can be no Doing, Noticing or Thinking.
July 10th, 2008 at 2:23 am
The lesson is to seek the opinions and advice of exceptional thinkers. While they may be controversial in their own sphere, maverick and holding unpopular beliefs they are always a key to something new. Distill and compare and always remember you are at the centre of everything you know and everything you are. While the two are often in conflict both aspects of self are pathways to new knowledge - so keep your mind clear and your spirit free.

That there are many types of thinking. That you can change your way of thinking. That what you think may not be as personally conscious a decision as you think it is!
May 27th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
That the course has challenged my habitual ways thinking. It has reconnected me to a clear sense of potential and the importance of recognising that the process is key to the succes of the outcome.

For me, the most important thing has been affirmation.
Thinking. Questioning. Playing with.
Preparing. Practising with the intention to improve specifics and automation…
All of these habits I’ve held in the face of life-long derision - are also held, profitably, by others.
So, with that little snip of highly useful feedback I can proceed to look for many BVS’s instead of wasting time on trying to please the critics while holding on to my intentions.
Thank you, Michael. I’ve enjoyed my time on the programme. It’s been satisfying.

I like the PTV concept. It has made me understand so much about the way we have behaved throughout all the years. It sounds something so simple yet so deep. As I see it PTV concept was the most important part of this course. A real wake up call!
February 10th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
I would take away a refreshing view of the Internet as a vehicle for free-thinking (and I mean FREE!) to achieve positive outcomes and a better world. Anyone who takes your ideas on board must surely be able to find a better view of the modern world AND practical ways to make things even better - that can only be good for all of us!
I will do all I can to promote this site to those decision-makers who can make a real difference for the future. Mean time, keep up the good work and thanks for everything!
February 6th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Though i learnt something new in each of these lessons in a very different way, PTV was an eye opener lesson and CVS to BVS was the best.
I learnt how to change the opinion by thinking DIFFERENTLY or to say thinking BEYOND.
Thank you once again for everything.

“If you were to tell a friend what the most important thing you have taken away from this training, what would you say it was for you personally?”
I was at a party tonight, one which I attend every year. It’s a family affair and some of the family are very gifted indeed. We happen to quite like each other, so discussion and the exchange of differing ideas are not frowned upon.
But his year my input was completely different.
I was able to tell friends about the most important things that I have been able to take away from this training,
Though not totally convinced, they were certainly engaged by the thinking behind the thinking,,,,,
So, hello and goodbye fellow SOT’ers, and thanks to all of you for sharing your thinking with me, and all the rest of us:
Charlie, Helene, Simon, Janie, Abhijeet, David, Shosh, Ruth, Michael, Raja Gopal, Rogi. Merrick, Devendra, Jill, Lien, Adriana, Dale, Robert, Bruce, James, Deep, etc., to name but a few, but for all my ’smarts’, Helene says it best
Helene Says:
December 1st, 2007 at 4:38 pm
To look deeper and to always be curious to what is possible. To never limit your thinking and to realise even if you have no formal education street wise can give you enormous opportunity if you dare to think in relms of possibility and not conform to the limiting beliefs of so many others.
Thank you Helene, and thanks be to you too, MIchael.
December 4th, 2007 at 11:41 am
The training has been expansive and enlightening. It has highlighted the fact that thinking is constrained by past events. As a result thinking is different for every individual and this is why we get such a wide array of different perceptions/ideas from the same input data.
Thinking and the use of this powerful tool is what differentiates individuals.

Meta-cognition.. thinking about thinking. It’s one of the most important things we can do in our lives. This course encourages people to do that and gives them a framework to break away from their current viewpoint. A valuable lesson - one that I would recommend to anyone.
I now have a ‘thinking framework’ to continue with.. thank you Michael.
November 28th, 2007 at 9:34 am
To think more clearly and deeper. To think from different perspectives and to be open minded
November 26th, 2007 at 2:38 pm
SDNT - such simple funda, so much meaning.
November 26th, 2007 at 11:21 am
The reminder that each of us is a sovereign thinker. I may think crazy thoughts which are quite different to anyone else. But they are mine. And if I don’t hurt anyone with them (and if they are profitable to me to think them), let it be. The worst thing in the world is to think like everyone else. Who would come up with the breakthroughs? Who would question the Hitlers?
I now don’t value the truth as much as I did. Which is to say, I value truth, but I respect that it may not be yours.
I also love the fact that you value humour as part of the equation.
There: three most important things. (Sorry it wasn’t ten, but this is already breaking the rules.)
Thank you, Michael. I have really enjoyed this stimulation. I feel like I should do the course again. Ten times? Then we might be starting to get really good at it.
November 12th, 2007 at 7:00 pm
Thare are two things of equal importance and value: The first is CVS2BVS (whenever I encounter a difficult problem I turn to it), and the second one is PRR. This one can make great changes in my career, and in my life.
Mike, thank you again for your great course! I’ll recommend it to everyone I know (who can read English, of course).
November 5th, 2007 at 6:08 pm
Sometimes its very hard to see what you are thinking, because you are ‘being’ it and you need to take a step (or two) back in order to see the thoughts clearly. All of the tools from this course are enabling me to do this to a greater degree. SDNT is very handy each time I come up with an excuse (previously a fact/truth) not to do something. I also think that its only in giving the feedback (because you have to think), that you can start to see what you actually think rather than what you think you think.
October 31st, 2007 at 8:11 am
it was more a reminder of a saying that a recent ‘guide’ used to say - that you get better at what you practice - and practicing is what should be focussed on, not the desired results
October 30th, 2007 at 12:41 am
most important thing i learnt is the PTV and CVS TO BVS lessons.it will be very helpful in my life
October 24th, 2007 at 1:09 am
Keep thinking at all times, while being sufficiently detached from the subject matter. That will eventually result in a CVS2BVS
October 23rd, 2007 at 1:38 pm
Above all, the fact that I can teach myself to think better.
Other important insights were:
- defining what I want in concrete terms is essential if I want to achieve the goal
- I need to focus my efforts towards what I want, and not let days or weeks go by without doing something towards achieving my goals
- the power of ten is simply amazing. It gives hugely expanded insight and choice, through the discipline of not settling for just one of something, but deciding instead to have 10 or 100 or more.
October 21st, 2007 at 8:25 pm
SDNT and that concentrate on the process, results will follow.
October 19th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
Dont stop thinking. Never assume you cant learn another way. Be inspired.
October 9th, 2007 at 9:23 am
Never restrict your perspectives nor your reception of others’ perspectives, and always question the underlying values of your thoughts. I have always been aware of this. SOT has clarified and shown the way to habituate these. Thank you!

This series of lessons has served a variety of ends, including:
. the need for objectivity and clarity in one’s thinking generally
. providing a number of useful tools with which to alert ourselves to possibilities, and
. alerting us to macro trends in Western thought, both positive and negative.
Increasingly, the future of the world depends directly on positive and effective thinking at all levels.
Well done, SOT.

Having gone through your SOT Course for the last ten weeks, complimented by my regular vespertine musings, I have realised the following: (i) that we humans have considerable control over our environments if we assume charge of our thought engineering department; (ii) that knowledge of Clinical Psychology, Metacognition, Statistics, Personal Finance, and Communication confer unimaginable personal power; and
(iii) that a sthenic will coupled with super brainpower is a fatal weapon capable of engaging in both symmetric and asymmetric conflicts.
In improving your teaching materials, you may kindly consider using best of the ancient and recent knowledge available on physical exercises, diet, nutraceuticals and occult teachings of the Far Eastern nations (on breathing and meditation) to boost brain power. Also, please ensure that we, your students, do not miss a few e-lessons, as I missed some of mine.
Notwithstanding this, your e-lessons do conduce metanoia. And all that for free in the era of capitalism is amazing. Thanks, Dr. Hewitt-Gleeson.

It was very enlightening to read the PTV analysis and that creates a lot of self criticism. I think that the notion that there is no 100% truth was most usefull to me because it enables me to be much more productive in almost all conversations i have. I have noticed that people find it wonderful that i am interested in the full version of their stories and don’t try to project my own truth on things anymore.

Have a sense of humour in everything you do, for a smile, laughter eases tention and promote understanding. It also creates bonds of sharing between people, and that we always have choices.
And, of course, PRR improve BVS.
Thanks again for stimulating lessons.
July 20th, 2007 at 1:11 am
I’m not sure I could say which *one* thing was the most important.
Two candidates stand out: PTV (for making me realise that though I see the Catholic Church as a pretty evil institution generally, that it actually still has a huge grip on my thinking, and the (western?) world generally; CVS2BVS, for being so obvious, it’s often missed - often just a few minutes ‘extra’ thinking before taking action can lead to vastly better outcomes. That both of these ’software for the brain’ ‘ideas’ are globally applicable. I am still daily amazed at how much PTV there is all around me, literally everywhere!!
July 16th, 2007 at 1:12 am
No thing is too small to apply good thinking skills toward and every day offers new challenges to think about.
Thoughts are things so make them good ones.

CVS to BVS
Always good to stop and reconsider your perception of a situation and at least think of other available perceptions - whether you change your mind or continue believeing your first instinct/thought could be irrelevant if you at least stop out of yourself for the moment to consider other options. I think. I love the CVStoBVS as a simple reminder that there are many ways to view things not just one.
I also love PRR - seems so simple but really is true
I also love simplicity and that cahnge and growth doesn’t have to be heartbreaking and painful it can make sense and happen over time. Set goals and the steps towards achieving them. Again it seems so simple but it is invaluable knowledge. Thank you Michael!
July 7th, 2007 at 12:12 am
There’s a whole tool kit of strategies, habits, and thinking skills to use and the best thing is they actually work.Use them.
July 4th, 2007 at 12:28 pm
There is always room for improvement. Look for better ways of thinking or doing. Don’t get stuck in a rut. Always be open to new ideas.
June 26th, 2007 at 8:33 pm
That seeing the world through right or wrong doesn’t actually get you anywhere….no growth in that thought sequence. It just feeds the ego which does not need feeding like that anyway!!
It is only growth when you look to find a better situation or idea to the present one that is the real pathway forward….growth big time from inside out!! After this thought process then action followed by observation, evaluation and action again. That way what you think about actually becomes reality by acting upon it. It is no good just thinking without action afterwards. And with all actions they become perfected by repetition and continual evaluation.
June 26th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
I would have to say that it has easily improved my confidence by ten x ten. Lol. I have STARTED AND ACHIEVED things that i never would have thought possible by me since starting this course and my outlook and thoughts on life are so much better and positive.

It’s a simple but drammatic realization of one’s self. Thinking methodically, reflecting on what is being thought and constantly being aware of one’s follies and fallacies, the course makes a great contribution to the world thought process.
February 7th, 2007 at 11:16 am
The SDNT ’search engine’ has helped me overcome my inertia on many tasks. Anyone who talks a lot about what they need to do, what they would like to do, how busy they are and how little time they have needs this particular software for their brain. As one astute teacher used to say, “How could you possibly run out of time? You had all the time that there was!’
January 22nd, 2007 at 10:39 am
re-confirmation that we choose our responses to stimuli, choose our attitudes and behaviours, and choose to make changes!
The one challenge for me was all the acronyms - I could really only cope with CVSTOBVS. Working in a large organisation we are already over-acronymised - I think I made up a new word!
- so found the others difficult.
The other real source of value was reading other people’s responses to questions (particularly Adam’s below, v insightful). It spurred me on to respond rather than just think about it and maybe do it later.
I’ll think I’ll be back in another few months to re-do the SOT training as a refresher!
January 22nd, 2007 at 8:32 am
CVSTOBVS was a great influence on my life - so easy to remember & so powerful to use!
January 22nd, 2007 at 8:26 am
There is a different way.
You need to see if it will make a difference to you.
try it.
You may end up with a better view then your current view of your situation.

My mind is more flexible and therefore more able to adapt to our changing environment.
January 19th, 2007 at 8:12 am
I enjoyed the challenge to my existing way of thinking. We can all get caught up in our comfy paradigm, and I have found it refreshing to be questioned on my thinking. And I liked the framing of the challenge to the truth, or the one right way, that we have to face almost every day. It has been good!
January 15th, 2007 at 9:13 am
That I am happy with my way of thinking. The lessons made me look at my piont of view of the world & the way I valuate what happens around me. I would not change anything except to take the time to think a little more about things that happen in my life- why & what can I do to handle the situation betteror improve the way I react. I would advise a friend to do the lessons, be open minded, to think & to learn.
January 14th, 2007 at 3:46 pm
For me it was he CVSTOBVS philosophy. What a way to live life-to always seek out a better way of doing, seeing or living life. Not only has this impacted my business life but also my personal and family life as well.I also would like to mention the unchecktocheck lessons. They have kept me focussed on what I need to do both in my professional and personal life and it ties in beautifully with CVSTOBVS. I thank you for this and I will revisit the lessons to further improve myself and thinking. Thank you for SOT, it has been a positive influence on my life.
