Telescopes X10 = a Global Telescope
Posted on January 15th, 2009 by Michael(PhysOrg.com) — Radio telescopes around the world will join forces this week.
They will carry out a unique observation of three quasars. Quasars are distant galaxies powered by super-massive black holes.
For 33 hours this observation is being conducted as part of the International Year of Astronomy 2009.

17 telescopes in Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America will take part in the mammoth project.
The unique X10 aspect of this event is that telescopes located all around the globe will be brought together to work as a single gigantic instrument.
