VATICAN CITY: Islam has surpassed Roman Catholicism as the world’s largest religion says the Vatican.

images.jpegFor the first time in history, we are no longer at the top: Muslims have overtaken us,” Monsignor Vittorio Formenti said in an interview with the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano.

He said that Catholics accounted for 17.4 percent of the world population — a stable percentage — while Muslims were at 19.2 percent.

What are the possible social implications of such a shift? That in my opinion is what we should be thinking about, because in the end it will affect everybody, believer or not.

Yeah … very interesting …. Now, since when does a Pope, a Human Spiritual Leader take a Competitive Position such as this ? … In other words, the Focus Should Be On Union, Love, Cooperation, Undersanding, Forgiveness … and Above All … the Realization that WE are All Connected … that there is NO True Competition … other than in one’s Thinking and Irrational Behaviors … Even In Competition, there should Be/Exist That Loving Appreciation for the Others’ points of view … even when and Especially where there are Severe Differences in the Faulty Thinking of those concerned … Again, and in Taking Care of Business, AS Usual … Control, Domination, Power … Who’s On Top, Who’s On The Bottom … HUH! …

Who cares about these sort of stastics? Not me. Will they get stastics on which group is the more loving, giving and sharing? probably not.
